Striper Club Holds Benefit Tournament - Midlands Striper Club held its annual Striped Bass Tournament to benefit SCDNR on June 11th. This tournament is MSC's largest fundraising event of the year and allows it to assist South Carolina Department of Natural Resources with efforts to promote and/or enhance the striped bass fisheries in our state. MSC has donated $32,300 to SCDNR as of 2010 and continues to support them in times of extreme budget cuts. MSC is the oldest inland striped bass fishing club in the U.S. Membership is $30 per year for the entire family. The club promotes family fishing opportunities with regular monthly tournaments plus special events annually. Monthly meetings are held at The Flight Deck in Lexington, SC the second Tuesday of each month.

Our Lady of the Lake Holds Yard Sale July 16 - The annual yard sale for Our Lady of the Lake Church will take place July 16th from 8 am to 1 pm. Items will include live plants, jewelry, sporting goods, furniture, computers and electrical items, kitchen, bath, linens, holiday items, small appliances, books, knick knacks, gardening items, tapes, CD's, toys, games and many other items for men, women, teens and children.
