Chapin Woman’s Club now selling pecans – It’s that time of year again. Pecans have arrived in Chapin. Cases and cases of chocolate covered, cinnamon, caramel, pieces and halves were delivered this week and distributed to members for sale to the community. “This is one of our major fundraisers” said Sue Casebeer, Chapin Woman’s Club member. Sue and her husband Charles coordinate the sale for the club. “We sell over 2,500 bags of pecans each year. It’s a lot of work to manage the distribution of that many pecans, but each year I remember how much money we make, and it all goes back into the Chapin community. It’s very rewarding to be a part of it. People come back year after year to order because they know the quality of our pecans,” said Sue. Money earned from the sale goes directly to Chapin philanthropic organizations such as We Care, Good Works, The Hub, Meals on Wheels, and to fund college scholarships for girls at Chapin High School and other local needs. All bags are $8. Mammoth halves and medium pieces come in 16 ounce bags, with the dark chocolate, milk chocolate, caramel and cinnamon in 12 ounce sealed colorful gift bags.
